The Costa Maya • Majahual • Xcalak • Chinchorro The Costa Maya The Costa Maya is located on the Caribbean Coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. The Costa Maya is well south of the international  tourist destination of Cancún and just a short drive from the state capital of Chetumal.Orginally discovered over 2000 years ago by the Mayan people whose fishermen regarded it as a fishing paradise. Today the Costa Maya offers high grade beaches for real estate investment, quiet enjoyment and, of course, fishing. Market Conditions As government funded improvements along the Mayan Coast progress, real estate prices continue to rise. With its new cruise ship dock, Costa Maya is being successfully promotoed as a cruise ship destination in the western Caribbean. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Celebrity, Princess, Norwegian, Disney, Carnival, Cunard, and Regal have started docking at the Costa Maya. It is estimated that 910,000 passengers arrived in 2005 and over a million passengers arrived in 2006. |
