“Why have we chosen to live in this part of the world?”- you will ask. You see, it goes far beyond making our dreams of beachfront living a part of our everyday environment. There is something for everybody here—whether you are a nature-lover or a party-goer or a career-builder. The tropical fauna that surrounds the urban areas offers a great variety of exciting tours; the depths of the turquoise Caribbean appeal to divers’ curiosity; world-renowned bars and clubs offer other kinds of thrills; and the booming real estate sector is a lure for the savvy investor. With such a great variety of ways to unwind, it’s no wonder the Yucatan has become such a popular site for people looking to leave behind the stress of everyday hustle and bustle. And in today’s crazy world, Caribbean living can only become even more appealing. |
These toothless filter-feeders are the biggest fish in the ocean and they eat only plankton. They swim year-round in search of microscopic food particles, and come to the coasts of Yucatan Peninsula between June and August. At this time, most of the local fishermen become tour guides for the world travelers who gather here to experience the unique opportunity of swimming with these gentle creatures of the deep. Although no scuba equipment is allowed, you can get really close to the giants, since they feed on the surface of the water. As a Sunset Shores lot owner, you ’ll be hosting this annual pilgrimage of these ancient Leviathans. These 40-foot toothless monsters will be slowly drifting through the turquoise waters only a few miles off shore from your dream beach home. What a treat to be able to share a Kodak moment with these visitors from the deep! Art Podolski |
